WACO, Texas (KWTX) - On October 6, 1926, New York Yankee legend Babe Ruth hit a record three home runs against the St. Louis Cardinals in the fourth game of the World Series.
The Yankees won that game but went on to lose the championship in the 7th game.
In 1928, he tied that record, facing off against the Cardinals again for another World Series.
A year later, Ruth would play in Waco.
In April of 1929, the New York Yankees played the Chicago Cubs at Katy Park for a spring exhibition game.
It drew crowds larger than the park’s four thousand seats.
