Central Texas is about to flirt with some record-breaking heat from late this weekend through Tuesday. Tuesday looks especially likely to break a daily record—the forecast high is actually above the old one. The heat won’t be the only weather story this week... we actually have some big weather changes coming mid-week.

Today starts in the 60s and warms into the upper 80s with lots of sunshine—more late-summer vibes than mid-November. The near-record warmth sticks around through Tuesday, when we could top the 1941 record of 84° with a forecast of 85°.

Things change on Wednesday as a cold front rolls in, bringing storm chances and cooler temperatures. Models don’t totally agree on rainfall amounts yet, but early estimates suggest 2–3 inches across Central Texas. Rain chances sit at 50% Wednesday and jump to 70% Thursday, with storms clearing out by Friday—just in time for Food For Families Day—with highs in the low to mid-70s.
