Tonight will be our coldest night so far this season, with a Freeze Warning now in effect for most of the area. We have issued a First Alert Weather Day for Monday morning since temperatures have decided to quickly snap to that winter-feel. Some spots could dip into the upper 20s by Monday morning. Winds will calm down Monday, but highs will still only reach the 50s.

Today we expect north winds around 10–20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph through much of the day, which will keep things feeling chilly despite some sunshine. Highs this afternoon will stay in the low 60s — about 20 degrees cooler than yesterday.

After tomorrow, we’ll quickly warm back up. By Tuesday, winds will turn southerly and temperatures will climb back into the 70s and 80s through the end of the week. That warming trend could bring an increased wildfire risk in western areas Tuesday afternoon due to dry air and gusty winds.

Looking toward next weekend, forecast models disagree a bit, but it looks like we could see another system bring a chance of rain sometime between Saturday and Monday, depending on how quickly it moves in.
