(KWTX) - Here’s this week’s restaurant report card for Central Texas:

Helados la Azteca at 3302 Franklin Avenue in Waco failed a renewal inspection with a 76.

According to the food safety worker, there were several cups of cut strawberries with gray and white moldy substances growing on them.

The shaved ice machine was dirty with gray and black substances and standing water.

The ice scoop was left inside the machine, and it had a gray and black substance on it.

Several spaces in the kitchen and some equipment were dirty with old, encrusted food debris on them.

There were other violations.

This place needed reinspection.

Oak & Ivy Wine Bar Bistro at 13701 Woodway Drive in Woodway passed a renewal inspection with a 92.

According to the food safety worker, the raw shrimp was not kept at the right temperature.

The ice scoop was stored inside the ice machine with a handle in direct contact with the ice.

Most places don’t realize this is a violation.

Also, there was no evidence of a certified food manager certificate.

Mart Dairy Queen at 614 East Texas Avenue in Mart failed a renewal inspection with a 93 and needed a reinspection.

According to the food safety worker, there was an undetectable amount of sanitizer at the compartment sink.

There were flies in the facility.

Some utensils were not stored properly.

This, among other violations.

And this week’s Clean Plate award goes to Off the Cob Popcorn at 5301 Bosque Boulevard in Waco.

Just in time for the summer movie season.

It’s a perfect snack while you Netflix and chill.

But what flavor should you choose?

There is dill pickle, caramel and the Waco blend (which is caramel, cheddar, and butter.)

There is jalapeno ranch, loaded potato, ranch dipped buffalo and the list truly goes on.

You can pick a chocolate flavor or even nut blends.

Pop in for a try.

Report Card” segments are gathered directly from the public records of regular inspections conducted by county health department officials in Central Texas. KWTX does not determine what locations are inspected and does not assign the overall scores which are reflected in percentages. Any questions regarding the status of an inspection, reinspection, or the score reported should be directed to the individual county health departments in which those businesses are located.
